A cover letter, while not always required, can make a difference—especially when applying for jobs in the newspaper or over the internet. A good letter should establish your intentions, enthusiasm, and knowledge of the company. Start with the cover letter introduction .

Now that you have a resume and/or cover letter ready, come by the career center and get it reviewed by one of our staff. You can either schedule an appointment or bring your document by the career center during drop-in hours.


We request that you bring a hard printed copy of your resume and/or cover letter with you for your appointment or drop-in session. See the appointment and drop-in informattion below:

Appointments and Drop-in Schedules

Cancellation and No-Show Policy for Scheduled Appointments:

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please do so through ClemsonJobLink at least 24 hours in advance. This allows our staff to offer your appointment time to another student, who is in need of our services. Missing or failure to cancel your appointment within 24 hours, more than once, will result in losing your appointment privileges for the semester; however, you may still utilize our drop-in services.

Appointments:
Please log-in to your ClemsonJobLink account to schedule an in person or virtual appointment. Update your profile in ClemsonJobLink and click “Counseling” on the top right to schedule an individual in-person or virtual appointment with a counselor for questions or assistance. Appointments are available 10 am to 11:30 am and 1:30 pm to 4 pm Monday through Friday.

Mock Interviews:
Mock Interviews are conducted during our appointment hours listed above. If you need to schedule a mock interview, please click here to schedule a Mock Interview with a counselor. Please have your resume ready to upload. It is also helpful to include a job description from a job or similar job to which you would like to apply. Job descriptions should be typed or copied into a box on the request form. Requests must be made two weeks in advance.


Drop-in Counseling Hours:
Students may drop-in for quick, 15 minute one-on-one counseling sessions from 1:30 pm to 3:45 pm, Monday - Friday.


Virtual Drop-in Counseling Hours:
Students may request a quick, 15 minute one-on-one virtual counseling session on Monday afternoons from 1:30 pm to 3:45 pm by starting a chat session with a member of our staff. The on-call staff member will provide the Zoom link for the day through the chat wiindow. The chat feature is located to the bottom right of our home page. INT 8010 CPT Advising: If you have an IS-130 form and need CPT approval from the career center, fill out this form and a CCPD adviser will contact you via email within two business days to provide your next steps. Questions about which INT course to take? Email Randa Johnson at mlabone@clemson.edu.

Co-op CPT Advising: Students enrolled in Co-op with a Co-op offer should call (864) 656-3150 to schedule a time for advising.
