Competency development is essential for student success for life after graduation. Universities are integrating this initiative campus-wide by infusing intentional student learning mapped to competencies into the curriculum and co-curriculum. Clemson University, The University of Tampa, Kansas State University, and Washington University in St. Louis, in partnership with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), hosted a “Strategies for Institutional-wide Competency Development” symposium on May 23 and 24, 2018 on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis.
The symposium was designed to bring faculty, career services staff, administrators, student affairs staff, and employers together to discuss strategic campus wide approaches. Over 210 attendees from over 94 institutions from 33 state, the District of Columbia and Canada attended the day and a half Symposium.
