Strategies for Institutional-wide Competency Development


Competency development is essential for student success for life after graduation. Colleges and Universities are integrating this development campus wide by infusing intentional student learning mapped to competencies into the curriculum and co-curriculum. Clemson University and The University of Tampa cohosted a “Strategies for Institutional-wide Competency Development” symposium on May 24 and 25, 2017 on the campus of Clemson University.


The symposium was designed to bring faculty, career services staff, administrators, student affairs staff, and employers together to discuss strategic campus wide approaches. Over 180 attendees from over 40 institutions attended the day and a half Symposium.

Participating school included Auburn University, Clemson University, Converse College, Duke University, Elon University, Florida Atlantic University, Furman University, James Madison University, Kansas State University, Stetson University, University of Connecticut, University of Florida, University of Maryland, University of Notre Dame, University of Portland, University of South Carolina, University of Tampa, University of Virgina, Virgina Tech and many more!
